Ovagen
Ovagen is a synthetic tetrapeptide developed as an ovarian bioregulator in the Khavinson series. It is studied for regulatory effects on ovarian follicular cell populations and reproductive hormone production in the context of ovarian ageing and menopause-related decline.
Like other Khavinson peptides, Ovagen is proposed to act via chromatin binding in ovarian granulosa and theca cells, modulating gene expression related to steroidogenesis (oestrogen, progesterone), FSH receptor expression, and follicular cell survival.
Research in aged female animal models describes preservation of ovarian follicle counts and improvement in oestrogen secretion capacity. Combination with other endocrine bioregulators in longevity protocols is described in the Russian gerontological literature.
